The rafting began on Saturday under the Bagmati River Festival Mahajal Jatra, in collaboration with the Nepal River Conservation Organisation, Friends Club, and the Bagmati cleaning Campaign.
Chakra Bahadur Chand, a social activist involved in the Bagmati Civilisation Campaign, said that regular rafting in Kathmandu is a historic event. social activist chand emphasised the need for government responsibility in river protection, highlighted the potential for rafting in Kathmandu to attract both domestic and foreign tourists.
The annual rafting event in the Bagmati River aims to raise public awareness about preserving the Bagmati civilisation, with hundreds of participants joining each year. Starting 30th july, the public can also participate in rafting from Thapathali to Chobhar for a fixed fee.
